Patient Care

Volunteers may choose to work directly with patients and their families. 

In doing so, a volunteer may:

Help alleviate fears of dying, being alone or feeling isolated
Provide a connection to the community
Help families access community resources and community activities
Provide opportunities for spiritual care

Bereavement Care

Work directly with our bereavement coordinator to:

Learn the principles of bereavement with emphasis on listening and communication skills

Make home visits, telephone contacts and/or written correspondence

Learn to assess grief recovery

Provide spiritual care support

Office Support & Community Outreach

Answer phones, assist with filing, data entry, preparing mailings, faxing, updating social media formats, etc.

Help with community health fairs, educational programs, special events, etc.
